Since 2008, RecycloCraftz has been empowering widowed, unemployed and orphaned women, men and youth in Zambia making an educational, economic and eternal difference. Tracy Murray, an Occupational Therapist, started a fair trade school while living in Lusaka, Zambia with her family. The artisans created products ranging from handbags to jewelry from recycled grocery bags, repurposed clothing and more. Since returning in 2011, Tracy has continued to support the artisans by marketing and selling their products in the United States. Barnabas Mwindula became the Zambian project manager in 2017; volunteers and paid staff members in both countries contribute to donation management, product creation, market expansion and community impact. RecycloCraftz provides business and literacy training, access to a faith-based library with computers, and educational toys and games for artisans’ children.
